Self-Harm continues to be a serious issue among adolescents, and is a major concern for teachers, counsellors and parents. This session outlines an educational approach to self harm that examines myths, positive vs. negative coping strategies, and barriers to seeking help. Participants will be given ideas for classroom presentations, staff PD and parent information sessions. Creating a common understanding about self-harm will help to reduce stigma and encourage students to seek help.
