This session will bring to light the struggles that many refugees face and the considerations to keep in mind when teaching and working with those from another country. Teachers will put themselves in the place of a student moving to Canada, thereby examining their own culturally responsive teaching practices. Practical and helpful ideas will be offered to teachers in order to welcome newcomers to Canada into their classroom with a smile!
