Second Language Teachers, Are You Up To The Task?

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Do you ever wonder about how to use tasks in second language teaching? In Second Language Education we hear a lot about teaching with tasks, but there is evidence that many teachers are still unsure about how to do it. In this session we aim to help clarify what a task is and how to design or adapt tasks for the second language classroom. Participants will experience hands-on activities about designing task-based lessons and creating or adapting materials. We will also evaluate specific examples of tasks and differentiate them from other pedagogical techniques such as exercises, activities, games or projects. We will be using materials and examples translated into English to ensure that the session is applicable to teachers of any second language. If you are interested in teaching with tasks, this session is for you.
