Pivotal Response Training (PRT) is a scientifically-based intervention for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)(Koegel & Koegel, 2006). Based on a review of over 8,000 abstracts PRT is listed by the National Autism Center as one of fourteen established practices for autism intervention. PRT is a naturalistic developmental behavioral intervention (Schriebman et al., 2015) that can be applied by a variety of people in multiple settings including the classroom, the home and the community. The use of PRT often leads to widespread, collateral improvements in a variety of different domains including communication, socialization, and behavior. PRT focuses on increasing a child’s motivation to engage and learn in their natural environment.
