Implications for Secondary School Leaders Seeking to Enhance Parent Involvement

Feedback form is now closed.
Many secondary school leaders are seeking best practices that will encourage meaningful participation from parents. Further complicating conventional strategies to involve parents are recent studies that point to the role of technology in changing the nature of relationships and communication between parents and educators (Sad, Konca, Özer, & Acar, 2016). How, then, can secondary school leaders increase parental involvement while sustaining meaningful relationships with parents? This presentation will provide the findings of the study and information provided from a parents’ perspective and recommendations were cross-referenced with the current Leadership Quality Standard. . From this session, leaders will be able to incorporate these strategies into their schools and overcome challenges at the secondary level of parent engagement. Leaders will access ideas to meet the LQS standards.
