A significant shift within teaching practice is that it encourages conceptual understanding and powerful learning. But what does that mean? Golden Hills School Division has researched and implemented strategies that support their staff and students in a shift away from a content to concept driven focus. This workshop is designed for educators who are interested in better understanding how these practices enhance powerful learning opportunities leading to deep understanding. Golden Hills School Division and Pearson Canada’s K-4 Alberta Research Team will share their collaborative journey to support teachers in implementing and designing powerful learning opportunities.
