According to Vygotsky, language learners acquire knowledge of a language through social experiences and interactions. By creating a language-rich environment in an authentic context, learners learn themed vocabulary combined with sentence patterns to communicate their experiences and ideas in the target language. Using a themed unit design as an example, this workshop is aimed to demonstrate how to use communicative and social Interactive approach to improve and promote learners’ acquisition of topic specific vocabulary.
