Limited Capacity seats available

Generally, we feel comfortable in front of our concert bands. With our baton in hand there is little question as to the outcome. When placed in front of the jazz band, we must overcome so many obstacles. Almost without exception our training is in the concert band genre, our resources in jazz education are limited and the instruments are often ones we don’t play. Just getting started can be overwhelming. How do I become the facilitator/director rather than a conductor?  And, what do you do with this thing called the rhythm section?  This session should provide direction for all in attendance.
