Intercultural Activities and Writing Workshop for your ELL Classroom
A workshop designed for supporting ELLs in their writing journey, learn hands-on techniques and activities for your ESL Classroom adapted from Lucy Calkins Writing Workshop. This scaffolded writing workshop includes grammar, vocabulary and writing templates to inspire ELLs to find their voice and create an intercultural space for learners to share their background knowledge.

Short Films for the ESL and Spanish Classroom
We know there’s more to “doing a movie study” than watching a film and doing worksheets afterwards. Enter short films! Short films are well...short but powerful. You can help your ELLs and language students appreciate authentic language and culture, hone their skills in literary analysis, practise their academic language, and much more all using films that are 30 seconds or more! - why short films are beneficial for language learning - tips on how to use just one film to target numerous learning outcomes - how to tailor learning tasks to different learner abilities - how to get your students to stretch their colloquial and academic language sample ideas for integrating short films in your own lessons - using short films to build a series of lesson Resources for working with ELLs/Spanish students will be provided but most can be applied to all second language classrooms.
