Active Learning - Incorporating Activity in the Classroom
Active Learning is a philosophical and pedagogical approach to bring movement based learning into a classroom for the mental and physical benefit of students. The goal of Active Learning is to maximize student engagement and success by delivering learning in a fun and invigorating manner that helps increase focus and attention in their class. Through this session Mark will demonstrate some of the different components and ideas that help make active learning successful. There will also be interactive components to engage the teachers and give them a chance to experience active learning. Teachers will also have an opportunity to discuss in small groups the best ways to implement active learning in their own specific classroom.
