Patty Milligan has spent two decades keeping bees, producing honey, and teaching people about bees. She first worked with bees as a summer job in 1989 and then went on to found her own beekeeping operation in 1999. She spent more than a decade keeping bees and selling honey in the greater Edmonton area. Gradually, she started talking and teaching people about bees. Patty become the beekeeper at Northlands Urban Farm in 2014 and the Edmonton Convention Centre in 2015. In 2017, Patty moved into the position of Agriculture Education Specialist for Northlands--coordinating the visits of thousands of students to Northlands Urban Farm, Amazing Agriculture, and Explore Agriculture at Farmfair. Patty also takes care of the beehive at the Edmonton Convention Centre. Throughout the years, she has spoken in numerous schools, food and farming related events for many local organizations and counties.
